Fried Egg Croissant

I could eat eggs everyday if I had my way all the time, but I don't think my family would be too happy with the constant egg smell floating around the apartment... When I do cook eggs, however, this is usually the way I do it. Come on, who doesn't love Egg McMuffins?

Ingredients (serves 1)
1 large egg
2 slices of bacon or thinly sliced ham
1 slice of cheddar cheese (I use Kraft Singles)
1 croissant or bagel, sliced in half sandwich style
Mayonnaise
Ketchup
Mustard
  1. Heat a skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Cook the bacon until it is fully cooked, or the ham until it is well heated. Drain the oil and place in microwave to keep warm.
  3. Spray the pan with nonstick spray and fry one egg, over-easy style. Once the egg white has somewhat set, lightly break the yolk with the corner of the spatula, so that it stays on top of the egg and doesn't run all over the pan.
  4. Once the egg is almost completely cooked, flip over and top with a slice of cheese.
  5. While the cheese is melting, toast your bread. Spread mayonnaise on each slice, along with mustard and ketchup if desired.
  6. Once the cheese is melted to your liking, remove the egg from the pan and place onto toast. Top with a couple slices of bacon, or ham.
  7. My sister and I buy extra Hot Mustard sauces from McDonald's and that's what I like to dip my sandwich in. Enjoy!
